The Indianapolis Colts were founded in 1953 as Baltimore Colts. In the early years, the team won three NFL Championships before the Super Bowl even existed. Under this name, the Colts around star quarterback Johnny Unitas won the first Super Bowl in team history in 1970. In 1984 the team moved to Indianapolis and has been playing in the capital of Indiana since then. Head Coach Tony Dungy joined the Colts in 2002 and won the Super Bowl in 2006 with quarterback Peyton Manning. In 2008 the Colts Stadium was completed - Lucas Oil Bank Stadium, which is still the home of 62421 seat franchise. In 2009 Indianapolis was again in the Super Bowl, but lost against the New Orleans Saints with Drew Brees. In 2012 Andrew Luck took over from Manning as QB, heralding a new era. While Peyton Manning still won a Super Bowl with his new team at the Denver Broncos in old age, the career of the Colts' new rookie QB was very bumpy. Due to injuries, the outstanding Luck surprisingly ended his career in 2018, and left the fans from Indianapolis petrified. Jacoby Brissett took over the scepter, but whether he will become the new franchise star is currently still in the stars.
