Colorado Rockies Caps

Colorado Rockies caps are popular because of their color scheme and logos. Purple as a color is rarely seen in the MLB and the Rockies offer, in addition to the simple interlocking CR logos, a detailed alternative logo with a mountain landscape.

The Colorado Rockies, founded in 1993, are one of the younger teams in the league.  Born out of league expansion in the early 90's, they found their home in Denver, Colorado's largest city. Due to the geographical location of the city, at the foot of the Rocky Mountains, and the connection not only to the city, but to the entire state, the team name Colorado Rockies was quickly found.

This connection to the Rocky Mountains, can be seen very well in the well-known current Alternate Logo and former Primary Logo.  A baseball flies into the air, the Rocky Mountains are shown in the background. More prominent, however, is the interlocking CR logo, which has been on the on-field caps since 1993 and has been the current primary logo since 2017.

Design-wise, the Rockies saw themselves as a modern franchise when they were founded, which is reflected by trendy colors like black, silver and purple. Still, the traditional history of the sport was important to them, which is why they have been playing at home with a pinstripe look jersey since inception.

This design exists in the league in several variations, but the Rockies were the only team to introduce purple stripes, a novelty that continues to this day.

In the first two years 1993-1994, the former Mile High Stadium served as a venue, which they had to share with other professional teams from Denver. It wasn't until the 1995 season that your ball park, Coors Field, was ready for occupancy and has served as a venue ever since.

Built in the Lower Downtown area, it's just a stone's throw from Union Station, the city's central train station.

Coors Field has for years, been considered a very hitter friendly ball park. This has a lot to do with the ball park's unique geographic location. The Rockies play in a stadium that is about 1,600 meters above sea level, much higher than other stadiums in the MLB. Batted balls fly farther at such heights, as is the case there, because the air resistance that must be penetrated is less than in other ball parks. Because of the experience, training facilities and high number of games there, this can become an advantage.

Nevertheless, The Rox, as they are affectionately called by their fans, are still waiting for their first World Series title.

One of the Rockies' greatest successes came in the 2007 season, when they won 7 straight playoff games, led by franchise icon Todd Helton, to reach the World Series, where they lost in a sweep to the Boston Red Sox. In 2014, Todd Helton was honored shortly after his career ended by announcing that his number 17, would never be issued again. He thus became the first player in Rockies history to receive this honor.

To have players like this in the future, all hope is placed in the farm system consisting of the Albuquerque Isotopes, Hartford Yard Goats, Spokane Indians and the Fresno Grizzlies. This always takes time, but the fans are loyal to their team. Since the beginning in 1993, the Colorado Rockies, with the exception of 3 years, have always been among the top 10 in MLB in terms of attendance.
