The Houston Rockets were founded in San Diego in 1967 and joined the NBA as an expansion team. The first player the Rockets signed in the draft was Pat Riley (Hall of Fame trainer). In 1971 the Rockets were sold to Houston and have been playing in Space City, Texas ever since. The Rockets' strongest period was in the 90s. The rebuilding that began in the late 80s around the legendary Hakeem “The Dream” Olajuwon center showed its first successes at the beginning of the 90s. In the 1992 NBA Draft, the Rockets Robert Horry and 1993 Sam Casell drew.
The Rockets team was now a title contender, and since Michael Jordan had retired, one less strong team was in the title fight. The Rockets won their first championship in the 1994 finals against the New York Knicks, and Olajuwon was named MVP. The following year, the Rockets were able to win the title again. After Michael Jordan returned to the NBA, the Rockets streak ended.
In the years 2000-2012 the Rockets could only reach the conference semifinals once and could not build on their past successes. In 2013 the era of James Harden started. The shooter was drafted by the Rockets in the 2009 NBA Draft by the Oklahoma City Thunder at three and was traded to the Rockets in 2013. Since then, the Rockets have made it to the NBA playoffs every year and have played in the Western Conference Finals twice.

What colors and logos are most popular?
Houston Rockets caps are popular in the current team colors on the one hand and in the historic team colors on the other. This also applies to the caps' logos. The current caps are very popular in the classic team colors red and black. The most popular logo currently is the simple R (Secondary Logo). These caps are particularly popular with a curved peak in the 110 Flexfit versions from Mitchell & Ness and 940 from New Era. The current logo of the Rockets has been around since 2003. In the Hard Wood Classics series, the Rockets logo from 1995-2003 in navy is particularly popular (see picture).
As a special edition we also offer name caps from the All-Star series by Mitchell & Ness. For the Houston Rockets this is the cap with the name "The Dream" which is supposed to remind of the legendary Center and Hall of Famer Hakeem Olajuwon.
Most popular caps:
