The Tennessee Titans were founded in 1960 as Houston Oilers in the AFL, where they won the title twice. With stars like Earl Campbell, who became MVP in his first season, and Warren Moon, who became the first black quarterback in the Hall of Fame in 2006, the Oilers had real superstars in their ranks at times. With the signing of head coach Jeff Fisher, QB Steve McNair and RB Eddie George, the Oilers had a strong team at the end of the 90s. In 1999 the team was brought to Nashville and, after a midseason as Tennessee Oilers, was now called Tennessee Titans. The first season was the most successful in club history, with the Music City Miracle and entry into the Super Bowl. There the St Louis Rams had to be beaten. In the end, a single yard was missing for the title in the decisive last turn. Subsequently, the Titans signed players such as Vince Young, Chris Johnson, Marcus Mariota and Derrick Henry. But it was only the change to the newly signed replacement quarterback Ryan Tannehill that led the Titans to success again.

What are the most popular colors and logos?
The Tennessee Titans started out as Houston Oilers in the 1960s with a logo of a cowboy with a football in his hand. In the 70s this was changed to a helmet with a derrick. In 1980 the helmet was removed from the Houston Oilers logo and the drilling rig was left as a logo. The team used this logo until they moved to Tennessee and you can still see it frequently at Throback Tennessee Titans caps. In 1999 the logo that was used until today was introduced. It shows a T in a circle with three stars, representing the Tennessee flag, with side flames. The logo is in team colors navy, blue, white and red, which in addition to classic black are also the common colors at Tennessee Titans caps.
